De legendarische band Pink Floyd brengt in oktober een nieuw album uit. Dit heeft de groep op zijn Facebook-pagina bekendgemaakt. De titel van het album draagt de naam The Endless River.
Voor het album worden grotendeels opnames uit de jaren ’90 gebruikt. Ook de in 2008 overleden toetsenist Richard Wright is dus nog op de plaat te horen. The Endless River is de opvolger van The Division Bell, dat in 1994 werd uitgebracht. Het nieuwe album bestaat voornamelijk uit instrumentale muziek. Eind deze zomer worden er meer details bekendgemaakt. Op de Facebook-pagina van Pink Floyd verscheen het volgende bericht:
“Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album “The Endless River” in October 2014. It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album is produced by David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson. Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the Summer.”
