McIntosh and Sonus Faber co-operate with Alps Alpine

McIntosh and Sonus Faber – both part of the McIntosh Group – will collaborate with ‘car brand’ Alps Alpine.

Now that we are slowly getting used to good hi-fi in the living room, more and more manufacturers think it’s time for hi-fi in the car. Meanwhile, there are already many audio manufacturers who have started a partnership with a car brand. This time it is the turn of McIntosh and Sonus Faber. They are going to co-operate with Alps Alpine.

Although of course that is not a car manufacturer in the true sense of the word, it is a major supplier in the field of car electronics. So that offers interesting possibilities, as both (or actually all three) companies must have thought.

Speakers and amplifiers

The intention is that Alps Alpine will develop speakers and amplifiers, using knowledge and technology from McIntosh and Sonus Faber. Both audio brands were active in the world of the automobile. Long ago, in 1994 McIntosh supplied audio products for Ford, Subaru and Harley Davidson. Now the market is likely to be bigger with the established component and system manufacturer Alps Alpine.

Concrete products are of course not yet known, but that will probably change in a while.
