LG has released a new party speaker that also functions as a lamp, intended for both indoor and outdoor use. For example, to brighten up a party.
Well, the designer of the LG XBOOM 360 P4 probably watched a lot of Dr. Who in his youth. But the design is rather functional, as the portable speaker is also a lamp. For sound, the driver is a 5.25-inch fiberglass woofer, plus a 1-inch titanium horn tweeter.
The total power output of the built-in amplifier is a maximum of 120 watts and the sound is radiated 360 degrees all around. The total height of the speaker unit is half a meter. LG has stated that it has reinforced the outside in such a way that knocking it over once has no negative effects.
Mood light
The built-in mood light has three modes: Ambient, Nature and Party. If these three modes are not enough for you, then there are even more effects available via the mobile app that comes with the speaker (iOS and Android).
The LG XBOOM 360 P4 also has a battery that allows you to use it without an outlet; it can be charged for ten hours of play to be exact. You pair a sound source wirelessly via Bluetooth, or with a cable via USB or line-in. If you wish, another XBOOM 360 P4 can be connected for an even wider soundstage.
The new LG is available – at least in the US – in black, beige, green or burgundy. LG is asking $400 for the XBOOM 360 P4.
