Auris HA-2SE+ tube headphone amplifier

The new Auris HA-2SE+ is a tube-based, balanced headphone amplifier that allows you to enjoy the “tube sound” privately.

Tubes remain – as we have of course written about with some regularity before – in hot demand. Certainly not mainstream, but there is a steady bevy of fans who greatly appreciate the specific sound of a tube (pre)amplifier. They can now indulge themselves in the headphone amplifier Auris HA-2SE+, under the hood you’ll find four Ei PL95 pentode power tubes (NOS, even) as well as an ECC81 dual-triode input tube. The vital transformers in a tube amplifier are hand-wound by Auris on a double C-core. This should result in a linear characteristic throughout the audio spectrum.

Impedance selector

In terms of outputs, a 6.3 mm unbalanced and a 4-pin balanced jack are available. Furthermore, an impedance selector is available; choose from 50, 150, 300 and 600 ohms. As for inputs, there is a choice of line and (balanced) XLR jacks. The Auris HA-2SE+ costs €2399.
