Orange is known for its legendary guitar amps. And now they have released their first Bluetooth speakers in the form of the Box and Box-L.
In any case, what stands out about the Orange Box and Box-L is the unusual amplifier setup. To be exact, a 30 watt Class D amplifier has been chosen for driving the subwoofer and a 10 watt Class A/B amplifier for its fullrange drivers. Furthermore, both speakers have a two-band equalizer (aka high-low tone control…) and a battery that when fully charged is good for more than 15 hours of playing time, according to the manufacturer. Bluetooth 5.0 with support for aptX and AAC ensure the theoretically optimal — within the limits of that Bluetooth — transmission of sound. Furthermore, the difference between the Orange Box and Box L is really mainly in the dimensions. No doubt the L will have a fuller soundstage due to its larger enclosure.
The Orange Box costs $355 and the Box L $406.
