The Marshall Homeline III marks a refresh for the well-known Acton, Stanmore and Woburn (mostly) portable speakers.
We deliberately put ‘(mostly)’ in the intro above. Because although the smallest and medium-sized offspring of the Marshall Homeline III can certainly be called portable, we dare doubt that for the sturdy Woburn III. The latter is a portable speaker that weighs 7.5 kilograms. Not something you go for a nice walk with, we guess. Also considering, among other things, the HDMI input, this is more a speaker for (semi) permanent setup. Under the hood you will find five Class D amplifiers with a combined power of 150 watts. Furthermore, this is a three-way system consisting of a bass driver, plus two midrange and high-frequency drivers.
Something more compact is also an option
The Marshall Stanmore III is medium-sized, clocking up a maximum of 80 watts of power. Perfectly usable as a Bluetooth speaker, while line inputs have also been considered. One in the form of the well-known tulip plugs and the other in minijack design. The smallest Marshall Homeline III speaker is the Acton III with up to 60 watts of Class D power. This compact version is armed with a bass driver and two tweeters equipped with waveguides. This speaker weighs a perfectly portable three pounds. Like the other two speakers, it can be used wirelessly via Bluetooth. Or use the also available line input in minijack version. More information can be found at the manufacturer.
The Marshall Acton III costs €299, the Stanmore III €399 and the Woburn III €599.
