Cleer Audio has developed a new in-ear specifically for ‘runners’, which is evident in both its design and features.
What’s first noticeable about the new Cleer Audio Arc II in-ears is that they don’t actually sit inside the ear. Instead, they radiate the sound into the ear canal, from a little distance. Has the great advantage that you continue to hear your surroundings as well, which in street sports definitely improves safety. According to the manufacturer, the safety aspect is also the reason that no ANC is present. However, convenient ear hooks have been implemented so that the earplugs will not easily slip out of the ear.
Head movements
It is also interesting that the Arc II supports the aptX Adaptive codec via Bluetooth. This should lead to nice sound quality, provided the source also supports this codec. The most eye-catching feature Cleer Audio has come up with though, is control via head gestures. This will allow you to always keep your hands free while exercising, or so the theory goes.
The Cleer Audio is available immediately in red or black, at a cost of $189.
