We also measured the Audel. We use Illusonic’s software for that – we are momentarily done with Audiomatica’s terrible software, although the CLIO can do more.
We set the DPA microphone at 1 meter and placed it between the tweeter and woofer. That gave the most balanced picture. Some reflections are still visible, but looking through that, we see a reasonably balanced response. There is a slight lift in the treble, but it’s certainly not excessive. And at a meter or two, it’s certainly no longer noticeable.
Distortion is a bit on the high side in the bass (1.5%). From 200 Hz it drops to well below 1%. From 1000 Hz it is even very low at 0.1%. We must say that we certainly did experience the bass as detailed. It is mainly the 2nd harmonic that is dominant in the distortion; we do not experience that as annoying. It only colors it a bit. However, in a pleasant way.
