The Holo Audio Red is, of course, primarily for someone who already owns a Holo Audio dac. But it can also be an ideal device for someone who has an i2s (HDMI) dac and wants to try out that connection. Or for someone who wants to use the DDC present in addition to the streamer. It is also a compact device that will look great on a desk. Finally, it is also an ideal device for someone who does not necessarily want to use Roon but wants to stream via Volumio or Tidal Connect, for example. We can see some options for this Holo Audio Red and its competitive price also makes it attractive.
The Holo Audio Red is a case in point. It is not only a streamer but also a DDC (digital to digital converter). We haven't seen that combination before. And if you know of a streamer that has as many or more connections as this Holo Audio Red be sure to let us know. Especially in this price range, we see unprecedented ways to get started with this device. The Holo Audio Red is a chunk of granite that is full of music. Its distinct color obviously has to please you but the build quality is top notch and the functionality very high. Those who want to get the most out of this streamer can choose from aes/ebu, i2s or bnc output. And apart from Roon, there are numerous ways to get this device working. The Holo Audio Red brings color to a largely gray landscape, and that makes us happy.Â

Quote: “Coming soon is Qobuz Connect and that will also run on the Holo Red.”
Using Roon or the Qobuz app, where can you find this information? Thanks.
Really a great streamer, in combination on Holo Spring 3 KTE via I2s DIY Silver HDMI sound very well, surprise me a lot. Anybody use or tested the Tubulus I2S cables? Concetrus or Argentus?
Would you choose the RED or the Primo (with LPS) for AES? Or is there another streamer in this price region I don‘t get with even better performance?
Thanks a lot!
Where you say “Those who want to use the DDC do so via the usb-c output.” Do you mean the USB-B 2.0 input?
The Red doesn’t appear to have a USB-C output and the DDC function converts from USB input to all of the outputs except for USB-A. USB-A output only operates in Streaming mode.

Hello Adam,
If you choose the Primo you can upgrade it with a nice power supply. We think using the Primo with a nice power supply gets the best result.
Best regards

Hello,
Yes, that’s correct. I got them mixed up.
Best regards.
