Well. Purifi Eigentakt EVAL1 or NAD C298? It just depends. What are you looking for? Do you want bang for the buck? Well… they actually offer that both. Because both the NAD C298 and the EVAL1 are bizarrely good. Now we must honestly admit that the EVAL1 price technically just can not be beaten. For 1300 euros you simply get an unprecedented power amplifier in your hifi rack. It really offers everything: resolution, speed, control, space … You have to put down 700 euros extra for a NAD C298. And yes … that sounds in our opinion just that little bit better: slightly larger, slightly rounder … and it offers more connectivity. And yes… also in its class it cannot be beaten…. for us, Eigentakt class D is just the end of class A amplification…. yes… curse us. This is just very, very good.
