Our Moon 600i V2 costs twice as much and yes… in some ways it goes further than the AVID Accent. Thankfully. It offers even more refinement and, above all, more calmness. Musicians are a little more delineated on stage. The character of the Moon is rather relaxed versus the energetic AVID.

At Søren Bebe Trio, the differences are limited. The AVID Accent can certainly bring delicate music. And in terms of detail, it should not be inferior to the more expensive Moon. The Moon is the rather sensible, big brother versus the young, unpredictable AVID that likes to go wild at times. You understand what we are getting at.

For whom

No amplifier is perfect but the AVID Hifi Accent does very little wrong. It should, given the competition. A Rega Aethos or Naim Supernait 3 are formidable opponents and easier to listen to. Still, we are convinced that you will not regret a second when you get an AVID Accent amplifier into your home. Especially if you have a record player or nice headphones lying around. Apart from the lack of the so-called ‘bragging rights’, this outsider has enough assets on board to make it difficult for the competition.

Conclusion

The AVID Accent integrated amplifier is a rather inconspicuous appearance. The black color of our test model only reinforces that impression. Operationally, however, everything is done to perfection. The rotary knobs are a pleasure to use, all connections are of excellent quality and the remote control is a gem. And then we have to talk about the playback. It surprises us again and again with its refined high combined with a tight, controlled low. This amplifier is also fast and fun. Although the competition is cutthroat in this price range, the AVID Accent takes up the gauntlet without batting an eye and will not be easily embarrassed in a multitest. It remains a significant investment, of course, but the separate headphone amp and Pellar phonostage are an absolute bonus on this already excellent amp. Recommended.
