We have the Bryston 7B3 power amplifiers many weeks to listen extensively and finally come to a nasty conclusion. Despite the good times we had with our delicious 4B3, we are actually ready for the next step. The sound quality is phenomenal, but with these grandiose 7B3 monoblocks we find that little bit of extra experience that ignites a spark that revives the musical flame.
The Bryston 7B3 makes us intensely happy from the very first notes and presents us with a difficult choice. Do we keep our iconic ‘4’ and resign ourselves to the safe known or do we invest in this lucky number 7’s and send our beloved ‘4’ with a lump in his throat to unknown places? We wrapped and weighed. Listened even more, of course. However, this has not been able to change the situation. The dreaded moment has really come. Farewell loyal Bryston 4B3. We’re up to our ears in love with exciting twins. We wish you good luck with a new owner. We will continue to cherish our togetherness in warm memories.
Kind of melodramatic, of course, but let’s face it. The Bryston 4B3 is an exceptionally well performing power amplifier and can undoubtedly say that the Bryston 4B3 one of the best all-round stereo power amplifiers in the price range to about ten thousand Euro. And this actually applies to all of Bryston’s components. Not for nothing play many editors of Alpha Audio, but also worldwide known artists with one or more components from the Bryston stable.
We only hiccup a bit against the investment and at the time of publication this is about 15k in real Euros. For power amplifiers only. Now it is common knowledge that we hi-fi journalists have no backbone when it comes to hi-fi equipment; we make a choice with our heart faster than our limited brain can follow. Maybe that’s why we Alpha men lead such a happy life. In spite of the financial loss, we’re completely ecstatic and as usual we’re taking one album after another out of the closet. Yes, with these Bryston 7B3’s we have found the music in our lives and after a few sleepless nights we get ready for a long and especially close relationship.
