We tested the Cambridge Audio CXA61 in our reference system in combination with the Focal Sopra No1. And that went remarkably well. The 60 watts is enough for the Sopra No1.
The rest of the system consists of:
- Metrum Acoustics Pavane
- Metrum Acoustics Ambre
- Standard mains cable for the Cambridge
- Audioquest NRG-1000 for the Pavane and Ambre
- Kemp Powerstrip 8plus power strip
- Driade Flow speaker cable
- Grimm TPM interlinks
To get a slightly better idea of how this amplifier compares to another current model, we took the Arcam SA10 out of the storage and put it next to it. We sampled both amplifiers. You can find the recordings at the end of this article.
