Chord Ttoby

The Chord Ttoby doesn’t have endless power so that’s something to take into account. And although this amplifier can be used as a desktop amplifier, it also fits very nicely in a regular stereo setup. If you’re looking for a power amplifier in this price range, you might not immediately think of this small, cute little box.

Usually one goes for the largest power box with the most watts but take it from us: this Ttoby is pure class. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, doesn’t get excessively hot and doesn’t leave you with a hernia. Yet you do get plenty of musicality, loads of control with most speakers, a high fun factor and more. It’s also a beautiful piece of kit to look at.

Of course, those 50 watts have their limitations, but all of our speakers are effortlessly controlled. If you have a dac with volume control, but still can’t get the most out of it, this Ttoby is a no-brainer.

Conclusion

The Chord Ttoby is a handmade music box that makes your speakers sing like nightingales. It has been on the market for some time now but remains a top performer in its price range. We are impressed by its pure, fast reproduction full of musicality. This compact stereo power amplifier gets the most out of your music and your speakers. It works well with most dacs and most speakers. At the end of the day, we even prefer it to our reference AHB2 and that's quite the compliment! In the right setting this is an absolute killer amp!
