Small, smaller, smallest. That’s the first thing that comes to mind when we take a look at the very modest Dali Menuet SE monitors. They are the smallest (25x15x23cm) audiophile speakers that we have seen; smaller even than the Dali Oberon 1 that we checked a while ago. And also smaller than our own Cabasse Surf mini monitors. Once out of their fabric bags, we see the beautiful finish in walnut veneer. This veneer is completely seamlessly applied and afterwards finished with a shiny effect so that they literally ‘excel’ even more. The special veneer is the only version for this edition and will remain available as long as stocks last. This gem will in any case be the absolute eye-catcher in your living space. And that is of course the intention of a Special Edition!

The Dali Menuet SE is a two-way bass-reflex monitor with a soft-dome tweeter and a wood fibre mid-driver. The tweeter is extra large to ensure seamless interaction with the woofer. The typical woofer with its distinctive colour fits perfectly with the SE version and consists mainly of paper, reinforced with wood fibre. This creates an irregular structure that has already proven its qualities several times. Because of the integrated bass port you can also mount this speaker on the wall or place it very close to the wall. The cabinet itself is slightly rounded at the front for an elegant look.

Of course Dali not only gave the appearance a makeover but also changed a number of things inside. For example, the crossover filter has been reviewed and is now provided with more expensive Mundorf capacitors. The tweeter is identical to the regular model but the voice coil on the mid-driver now consists of heat resistant glass fibers to reduce distortion to an absolute minimum. The circuit board itself is equipped with specially selected materials to further eliminate electrical interference. A nice touch are the nice speaker connections from the top-tier DALI Epicon series
