Measuring a dipole is very difficult because of reflections. Especially a dipole with the tweeter on the edge and the mid / low part next to it. Because where do you place the microphone? In short: challenges. Actually, you should measure this in a dead room. But well: we do not have one, so we have to take a different approach and use common sense to interpret things.
A dipole is by definition extremely sensitive to the tilt. Also this Diptyque DP107. We also show this in this measurement. The difference between straight, a little tilt and a substantial tilt is huge. It is logical: you shift the position of the tweeter.
Basically, it comes down to the fact that the Diptyque DP107 is technically excellent and measures well for a speaker in this class. It comes down more to how someone sets them up. If you place them correctly and the tilt is correct, then the Diptyque simply measures well and a balanced reproduction can be realized. However, a dipole reacts to the room and floor reflections also play a role. This can be seen in the differences between a light and wider tilt. This is less true for conventional speakers. But they have other issues. We see a technically good product where placement is the biggest factor for performance. Our tip: get a few basic measurements at the listening position to determine the tilt. You will really benefit from it.
