Conclusion
The Focal Sopra NR 1 is a special speaker. The 'Fat lady' as we call her, is detailed and very realistic. Note that the whole hi-fi chain has to be right. The natural sound we have heard in high quality recordings. But also with the poor quality recordings. She lets you hear everything. Also everything you would rather not hear. She gives no coloring to the music. And yes: the Sopra No1 reminds us of the big speakers in the Sopra series. Especially the top and physically flipped. They have also filled the Sopra No1 with new techniques. And that's good to hear in the enormous resolution and captivating display.
We really enjoyed the speaker. Are you fed up with the standard black color of a speaker, Focal also offers a solution for that.... nice orange!
On the one hand, we think it's great that the speaker is delivered complete. Spikes, discs and stand (tripod). But what if you really only want the speaker?
Not a bad idea really. It would be useful to get connected to those online outlets for other reasons. Ya just never know! But I don’t see myself moving down this particular track given its fussy nature about support chain. I don’t need to work that hard or spend that much to be a happy camper.😎Now…🐶Next shiny object > Moon 250i
I am finishing today’s journey into the audio unknown by whimsically picking a speaker review from the expanding and wonderful AA catalog. This is it…and that was phenomenal. To these ears, and without a doubt, my favorite speaker by a mile (sorry kilometer doesn’t make the meter!). Well, at least for these audio samples. Still needs testing for some of my jazz and classical to confirm what I think I already know: that I ❤️ BTs and this speaker! And that I can’t afford them. Damn. Next…..
Try second hand… maybe… just maybe!
