Metingen Focal Stellia
Contents
The measurements of the Focal Stellia show that Focal clearly wanted a more neutral model than the Elegia. Not only is the response better – also because of our tuning in the measuring setup – the distortion is also lower. Especially in the layer. Add to that a tighter impulse behavior and you will understand that the Stellia is quite a step compared to the Elegia. And you have to. The Stellia costs significantly more.
What is particularly striking is the extremely tight middle area. No hump, no dip… just a straight response. Very nice, because this ensures a deliciously neutral tonality. And that’s what we really hear.
However, if you are looking for an even more puristic rendering and don’t find an open model a problem, you’d better go for the open Utopia. It has an even lower distortion and an even better impulse response. However, this one is open. And that has its consequences…
