Measurements Isotek Aquarius V5
Contents
As mentioned in the intro, we are still developing a solid procedure to measure power conditioners. It is complex stuff. But what we can already do is a measurement directly in the wall to see how the power supply ‘performs’ without a filter. And then a measurement with a filter to see what it does in the audible spectrum.
Next we took a Class-D amplifier with linear power supply and measured it with and without the Isotek Aquarius V5. We measured the noise floor, distortion and power. Both through the High Current and Low Current outputs. What can be seen without doubt is that the noise floor drops with the Aquarius in the chain. This is measurable, visible and reproducible.
In terms of distortion and power, we actually see no difference, which is not the intention. So the filter has no influence on that. What we would still like to be able to see is how an amplifier reacts to dynamic signals: with and without a filter. That could be interesting to map out.
