KLH Model Five

We place the Model Five as far apart as possible. Because of their width, they are otherwise quickly too close together. We get about three feet from the center of the drivers. We leave the knob for the treble at the neutral position because it works best in our space. We didn’t like the other two positions as much. We use some mild toe-in for the speakers. Almost straight through although the manual suggests more toe-in. Placement is personal and depends on your space and your taste. We left the grilles on. It just looks a lot better.

  1. Great review guys. I have owned these for over a year, and they just keep getting better. They are extremely transparent, and sound very good with a mix of gear. I find the sound most pleasing with an R2R DAC vs a chip DAC. Even my XTZ Edge A2-400 class d amplifier with the right preamp sounds incredibly good. A class A/B amp and preamp sound the best to my ear. Just a fantastic all around versatile speaker. Mine are staying.
