We connect our Revels to the Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 with a set of Ricable Magnus speaker cables and a custom made Ethernet cable provides connection to the grid. Then hooking up the included microphone to measure our room. We listened both with and without RoomPerfect™. Recently colleague Jaap Veenstra measured my room and found no strange things. It is and remains a lively room but the bass can get away nicely and the distortion is surprisingly small. The whole thing is completely in balance and that is mainly a confirmation of what we hear In addition to RoomPerfect™, there are a few so-called ‘voicings’ in the Lyngdorf app.
We found most of them rather pronounced but ‘Bass 1’ sounded pretty good on our Revels. Whether it’s something for you you should test yourself but for the listening test we used the standard ‘Neutral Voicing’. For purists, voicings, DSP and room correction may be a no go but we always test a device as completely as possible and without prejudice. The only yardstick is that it has to sound good.
