Is the Shuttle DH02U the media player you need? Well… that depends. Yeah, dull answer. We know. But that’s the way it is. This Shuttle offers a quiet and compact solution for just over 800 euros that is fairly easy to modify. You determine the storage capacity (M.2 and SATA) and RAM. The cpu is not brutal, but that is also not necessary for media use. The GTX1050 is fast and offers four hdmi outputs. Two would be enough, but too much rather than too little. Isn’t that right?

If you want to get the most out of this Shuttle, knowledge of computers and software is necessary. If you do not have this knowledge, we advise against this solution. If you have the knowledge, the Shuttle is an interesting toy.

Conclusion

It surprises us every time how well computers work in an audio/video setup. The Shuttle DH02U is no exception. The image quality of the GTX1050 is sublime. Audiotechnically, the standard Shuttle is simply good. That can be tweaked with software and better power supplies. We did not do that for this test. Just to test the whole 'as-is' thing. At the bottom of the line we find this Shuttle an interesting option to use as a media center.
