For whom?

For whom is such an upgrade power supply – in this case the Syntaxx – now interesting? Well, everyone does, actually. Anyone with an externally powered d/a converter, streamer, streaming bridge, switch… The difference in display is really not insignificant. Our experience is that any device with a switching power supply benefits from an external, solid power supply.
The nice thing about the Syntaxx is that it has multiple outputs and can be ordered made to measure. The fact that everything is in one box saves a lot of cables and associated misery. If you have one device to power, there are alternatives that are more interesting. If you have two or more, the cards are different.
Conclusion
We have tested the Syntaxx Bi Volt PSU. A model with two output voltages and four outputs. This is a very handy device for those who have a set where several devices - low power - can be powered externally. Think of some d/a converters, switches, routers, NUC's, etcetera. We find the 'one-box' design very interesting. There is no doubt about it: the Syntaxx delivers. We hear more detail, more space, more music. If you have one device to power, there are alternatives that may be more interesting. The Farad Super3 just sounds a little bit better to us. But yes: relatively more expensive (per output) and multiple boxes... So on a practical level, Syntaxx wins.
