A complete, playing system with a pair of two-way monitor-speakers, CD-player, tuner, bluetooth and the necessary inputs for… EUR 399. That can’t be anything, can it? We’re gonna check it out. Time for the Teufel Ultima 20 Kombo set

You’re looking for something simple. And something affordable. The set needs to be paired with your phone and a few sources. Think of the TV or a simple streamer.

Of course, there is a lot of choice when you go searching. Think of the Marantz Melody Media series. A very nice, solid device. But not very cheap if you also have to buy speakers and cable. There’s already a streamer in there.

However, if you are looking for something really cheap, then perhaps the Teufel Ultima 20 Kombo is something. You’ll get a CD receiver with a pair of speakers. You can ‘stream’ to the receiver quickly and easily with the Bluetooth dongle (included), with AptX if your phone supports it. That’s not CD quality, but it’s coming a long way.

If you want to connect digital sources, unfortunately that is not possible: there are only analogue inputs. But anyway: for 399 euros we don’t complain (really).
