Open, fast and detailed without sharpness and with lots of definition in the bass. When the Xavian Corallo Esclusivo are well positioned the reproduction is pretty complete. That wooden cabinet certainly plays a part and of course also the closed concept. The bass is fast, dry but with a lot of punch and with some playing with the distance to the wall also enough slam and punch. The midrange is clear and uncolored and the high reasonably refined and never sharp. They are particularly detail-rich without becoming tiresome, and due to the use of real wood they have a particularly pleasant tonality that is especially evident in smaller classical work and quiet vocal work

The integration between mid-driver and tweeter is quasi-seamless so you get a very coherent reproduction and you never get the feeling that any part of the reproduction is unbalanced. The stereo image is not too wide but very precise with a decent placement of voices and instruments. The speakers also ‘disappear’ nicely by which we mean that music effortlessly detaches from the speakers.

They are also the ideal speakers to place next to a television, for example. Watching movies is a pleasure because of their high intelligibility and silky smooth tweeter. Everything comes through crystal clear and you can relax because there is almost no sharpness. Of course you don’t get the deepest of basses but close to a wall there is surprisingly much definition coming through without it getting bonkers

Compare

We take out our Vienna Acoustics Haydn Jubilee speakers again and that is never a punishment. This limited edition remains a top performer in its price range. They are cheaper than the Carollo Esclusivo but they are formidable opponents, even for more expensive competitors. The finish of the Xavian is of course in a class of its own and also in terms of reproduction the Xavian goes a little further here and there. It sounds more open than the Vienna and because of its closed system it is also faster. The Vienna has more punch and slam in the low end and does not need to be close to a wall to be in balance. The Xavian is also a bit more detail rich but both never sound chilly or analytical. These are speakers that speak to the heart rather than the head.

For Whom

It goes without saying that this speaker is for someone who may be a little tight on space. In addition, these speakers are also for those looking for a compact speaker that is also exceptionally well finished. A speaker that becomes part of the interior and makes few compromises in terms of reproduction. This Xavian Corallo Esclusivo is for someone who values appearance and is looking for a speaker that fits perfectly into the interior. The accompanying stands make sure of that even more. Also the fact that Xavian works with high quality components will play into the decision to choose these speakers. Finally, the feeling you get with these speakers, the ‘pride of ownership’ so to speak, is very high.

Conclusion

The Xavian Corallo Esclusivo loudspeaker is made with a specific purpose in mind. They are at their best in a small to medium-sized listening room and can stand close to the wall. It is admirable, and even a little visionary, that Xavian Audio included such a speaker in its range, for space will become an increasingly scarce commodity. The characteristic open, fast sound is fortunately retained and the finish is, as always, second to none. If you do not have much space but you still want a high quality speaker then the Xavian Corallo Esclusivo is an excellent choice. The finish, the materials used and the reproduction offer a lot of value for money. It is therefore entirely justified that Xavian Audio has become a fixture in the hi-fi landscape.
