Bluesound’s new Powernode Edge is a streamer with a built-in amplifier. Just connect a set of speakers to it and listen away!
Naturally, the new Bluesound Powernode Edge runs on BluOS, which enables a range of multiroom configurations. But it is certainly also a stand-alone streamer amplifier to which you only need to connect a set of passive speakers to start listening. So a wonderfully compact and fast solution for just about any conceivable application at home. Add a subwoofer to the configuration too, when needed. You could also use the Powernode Edge as a wireless rear amplifier in an equally wireless surround system. For most people, however, it will primarily be a charming streamer-amplifier that will get you up and running very quickly.
Streaming away
The built-in DAC supports a quality of up to 24 bit / 192 kHz, as well as MQA for enthusiasts. The maximum output power is 2 x 40 watts into 8 ohms. On the streaming side, a range of music services are supported, including Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz and Spotify. The price is nice: $649.
