Cambridge Audio has released two affordable streamers that offer something for everyone.
The Cambridge Audio AXN10 is a ‘full size’ media player, matching in design the already existing AX series from the same brand. The also new MXN10 (see screenshot above) is quite a bit smaller with dimensions of only 5.2 x 21.5 x19.1 cm. Internally, both streamers are nearly identical, being based on the DACMagix 200M DAC and headphone amplifier. Furthermore, both models are based on the proprietary StreamMagic module.
Connectivity
They work with AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and Bluetooth 5. In addition, the well-known streaming services Tidal, Spotify and Qobuz are supported, as well as Internet radio. Via wifi or Ethernet a connection with the (home) network is made. From there, it’s possible to play content from UPnP sources. A USB connection allows you to plug in USB media. Finally, the newcomers from Cambridge Audio are Roon Ready. The AXN10 costs €599 and the MXN10 €499. The manufacturer reports that the AXN10 will initially be available in limited quantities.
