WiiM Pro Plus music streamer

The new WiiM Pro Plus music streamer makes it possible to bring streaming capabilities to any hi-fi system.

Older but certainly also modern integrated amplifiers do not always have streaming capabilities. Or they are too old to do anything meaningful with aged streaming components as far as audio streaming is concerned. For such scenarios, the new WiiM Pro Plus music streamer comes in handy. In appearance, the device looks a bit like the Apple TV. Internally, a TI Burr Brown takes care of the D/A conversion. This delivers a maximum PCM resolution of 32 bit / 192 kHz. Standard, music services such as Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music and Deezer, among others, are supported. You can also stream radio stations from around the world via TuneIn. Chromecast is implemented too, as well as Roon Ready.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity there is analog RCA as well as optical and coax digital out. Practical is the presence of an Ethernet connector, such a network connection is just a bit more stable than wifi. For lovers of smart assistants, it is nice to know that quite a few are supported: Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant. Simply talk to the remote with a microphone integrated in it.

Remains the price of the WiiM Pro Plus, which turns out to be particularly low: for only $219 it’s yours!
