And whether the average consumer is really waiting for it? Yet change seems to be imminent as far as the Apple HomePod is concerned. There are increasing indications – for example, we read in this article from MacRumors that not only is there a proprietary OS in the form of HomeOS in the pipeline for the smart speaker. A display, meanwhile, is also no longer being ruled out.
When?
So when is the envisioned Apple HomePod with screen and HomeOS supposed to appear? Well, that always remains a mystery in the tech world of ‘informants’. Possibly as early as this year, but don’t be surprised if it arrives (much) later, either. Or just never. But a smart assistant with touch screen and speaker could well take a central place in the living room, of course.
