The new Volumio Motivo is described by the manufacturer as a device with three functions in one: streamer, transport and headphone amplifier.
What immediately stands out about the Volumio Motivo – besides the inviting red button – is the spacious 8-inch display on the sloping top of the device. That’s something different, and such a console-like design has its ergonomic advantages. Under the hood of the nicely compact unit a Sabre ES9038 DAC chip takes care of the D/A conversion. The maximum achievable quality via PCM is 24 bit / 384 kHz, while DSD up to DSD256 is also supported. The pre-installed Volumio software makes use of KI, with which – so the thinking goes – you will constantly discover new music that suits your taste.
Stream and listen
The Volumio Motivo supports numerous well-known music streamers such as Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz and many more. Furthermore, it is fully Roon ready and is cast to Sonos and Google cast possible. Bluetooth 5 is standing by for those who love it. Pleasant is the equally present web radio software, with which you can effortlessly listen to a seemingly endless stream of radio stations from all over the world. If you wish, the device can also be used stand-alone in combination with headphones. This, of course, thanks to the built-in headphone amplifier.
The Volumio Motivo is available immediately, at a price of €1749.
