The set-up

We use the cables in the reference system:
- ATC SCM19 V2
- BENCHMARK AHB2 (mono)
- BENCHMARK HPA4
- SONNET MORPHEUS
- NAD M50
Situation beforehand
We have a nice Audioquest GO-4 speaker cable with DBS technology so than one may stay. Everything else will be replaced. Specifically an Audioquest Yukon xlr, Supra Sword rca, Grimm Tpr aes/ebu, Dion Audio coax cable. Now the cabling and power supply is completely provided by Audioquest.
Method
We proceed systematically, adding an element each time. Once everything is connected and burned in we listen to our test list a few times. Then we take the whole bunch out again and listen to how big the ‘damage’ is with our own cables.
Order of addition:
We start by connecting all the power cords to the Powerquest 3 and put our standard power strip aside. Next it’s time for the Diamond cables which we use with the NAD M50 and the Sonnet Audio Morpheus. Then we replace our analog cables with the Water rca and xlr cables. Finally, we connect the Monsoon to the Morpheus.
